Nontraditional Students: A Traditional Presence at UIS
Almost 41% of UIS undergraduate students this year are over the age of 24 writes Chancellor Susan Koch in a recent SJ-R column. Age is only part of the story, as national research indicates these students often do not start college immediately after high school, attend part-time while also working, are not financially supported by parents and may have other dependents.
Hire UIS Students and Alumni
Businesses and organizations are encouraged to register now for booth space at the 2017 Career Connections Expo. The expo will be held on Thursday, February 16, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at The Recreation and Athletic Center (TRAC) on the UIS campus. Over 400 students and alumni are expected to participate.
UIS Traveling to Florida and Arizona
Plan to be our guest for alumni and friends gatherings around the country. Join UIS Chancellor Susan Koch for lunch on Friday, February 3, in Naples, Florida or Thursday, February 16, in Scottsdale, Arizona. The lunches will also include a presentation by Dr. Hilary Frost, Associate Professor and Chair of Global Studies. Stay tuned for additional events in St. Louis, Chicago and Washington, D.C.
Baseball to Host First Pitch Banquet
The UIS baseball program is hosting its fourth annual First Pitch Banquet on Saturday, February 4. The event serves as the annual kickoff to baseball season at UIS. Guest speaker is current Chicago White Sox bullpen coach Curt Hasler, who will be marking his 30th year in the White Sox organization.
