Meet Alumnus Nathan Piper

Nathan Piper

Alumnus Nathan Piper ’14 PAA is a Communications Specialist with the Illinois Municipal League where he disseminates information regarding happenings in the Illinois State Capitol. Nathan’s leadership and passion for state government has continued to grow from his time on campus with the Student Activities Committee and Model Illinois Government, to his time serving as a Communications Staffer for three state senators from 2015-2017.

Exercise Science Program Gains Popularity

Exercise Science ProgramDemand for certified athletic trainers and physical therapists will continue to increase in the coming years according to current reports. UIS is preparing students through the undergraduate Exercise Science degree program, which incorporates hands-on training and experience in their lab. A master’s program in athletic training will be offered starting with the fall 2018 semester.

 

Reaching Stellar: UIS Baseball Ranked 5th in the Nation

Nick StowkowskiGreat news! UIS Baseball is ranked 5th in the nation among NCAA Division II teams. The team has a 27-game winning streak, a 35-4 overall record and 16-0 record in their conference. That’s definitely Reaching Stellar! In this story, find out how a core group of community donor/fans have helped the team to success and how you can join them. You can also learn how best to keep up with the team. We expect great things ahead! (At right, Nick Stokowski, who leads the team with a batting average of .420 and 17 home runs.)

Prairie Stars Shine on the Playing Field & in the Classroom
