Q. Can I continue my bachelor’s degree at UIS?

A. UIS offers 31 bachelor’s degrees, so we can help you continue your education without missing a beat. In many cases, UIS has a degree that aligns with your area of study. If there’s not an exact equivalent, we’ll work with you to find a degree that matches your interests and goals and maximizes your college credits and experience.
You will earn a University of Illinois degree, joining more than 740,000 living alumni across the globe, including teachers, entrepreneurs, artists, researchers, business leaders, and Nobel Prize winners.

Q. Can I continue my associate degree at UIS?

A. UIS does not offer associate degrees. However, if your long-term goal is a four-year degree, we’ll get you on the right path now. We’ll work with you to identify an area of study and to carry over your Midstate credits when possible. Check out our list of majors.

Q. Will my credits transfer?

A. Our Admissions team will work closely with you to apply as many of your credits as possible toward a UIS degree. Transfer work must be similar in nature, level, and content to courses at UIS. Credit for transfer courses is either applied as direct equivalents or applied to a degree in a manner determined by the department and college.

Q. When do fall classes begin?

A. We’re on a semester schedule at UIS, and fall classes begin Aug. 26.

Q. What’s my first step to join the UIS family?

A. Complete an application to UIS. As a current Midstate College student, we are waiving your application fee. After you’ve submitted your application, contact Admissions to discuss transferring your credits.

Q. What will it cost to continue my education at UIS?

A. Tuition is based on credit hours per semester. Our tuition and fee calculator can do the math for you. Learn about housing costs, books, how to make a payment, and more.

Q. What steps should I take to transfer my financial aid?

A. Simply make a correction to your completed FAFSA, and add UIS as your school of choice (code 009333). Once you are admitted to UIS and we receive the completed FAFSA info, we can determine your aid eligibility. Learn more about financial assistance at UIS.
