UIS Students

  • Office of Student Life
The nerve center for UIS traditions, clubs and organizations, events on campus, and more.
  • Intercollegiate Athletics and Campus Recreation
We compete in NCAA Division II as a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Our new Recreation and Athletic Center (TRAC) includes an elevated track and state of the art fitness equipment.
  • The Journal
Our award-winning student newspaper employs a large staff of students and offers hands-on experience in reporting, editing, layout and design, ad sales and more.
  • Student Committees
The best part about UIS committees? If you don’t see what you like, find some friends and start a new one. We’ll support you.
  • Volunteerism and Civic Engagement
Cultivate the seeds of ethical thought and citizen responsibility through our many opportunities for action.
  • Housing Residents’ Council and Student Activities Committee
These groups started traditions like Jello Olympics, and they bring bands, comedians, magicians and other performers to campus.
