“Slobodan Milosevic: What His Trial Means for Europe and Beyond” will be the subject of a presentation by Pinky Wassenberg at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, in Brookens Auditorium on the campus of the University of Illinois at Springfield. The program, which is free and open to the public, follows the World Affairs Council dinner scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in the Public Affairs Center Restaurant.
Wassenberg is an associate professor in the Political Studies department at UIS and an authority on the law of military conflict. Her presentation will put Milosevic in his geopolitical and historical context and lay out the dynamics of his trial.
This program is co-sponsored with public television station WSEC-TV in conjunction with the broadcast of the PBS special program “Bringing Down a Dictator,” to be aired at 9 p.m. Sunday, March 31.
