WUIS to broadcast live coverage of State of the State Address and State of the Union Address

SPRINGFIELD – Public Radio WUIS 91.9 FM will air live coverage of Governor Rod Blagojevich’s State of the State speech in its entirety at noon Wednesday, January 18. WUIS’ analysis of the speech will be hosted by News Director Rich Bradley and Statehouse Bureau Chief Sean Crawford and will feature Kent Redfield, interim director of UIS’ Institute for Legislative Studies and professor of Political Studies.
The Governor’s address will be re-broadcast that evening at 8 p.m. Listeners can also hear the speech and analysis through the station’s live streaming service at www.wuis.org.

On Tuesday, January 31, WUIS and NPR will provide live coverage of President Bush’s State of the Union Address, scheduled for 8 p.m. CST. All Things Considered host Robert Siegel will anchor this special broadcast, which includes analysis from NPR correspondents as well as reactions from political analysts and members of Congress.
