Women's Peace & Friendship Garden

The Women’s Peace & Friendship Garden was established
on the southwest corner of the campus pond in October
1997.

This Women’s Center garden honors the awardees of the annual Naomi B. Lynn Award for Outstanding Contributions
to Women at UIS.

The award is presented every autumn at a garden
reception. Everyone is welcome to visit the garden as a
place of beauty and peace.

Garden Dedication

The Women’s Center plants the seeds, our award recipients provide the light, volunteers nurture the plants, and our grounds crew guides and tends the growth. We invite you to watch our garden grow.

We celebrate this garden which honors Naomi B. Lynn Awardees. Given annually by the
UIS Women’s Center, the Lynn Award recognizes an individual who has made an
outstanding contribution to the environment for women on the University of Illinois at Springfield campus.
