Teaching Interests: Economics and finance, economic welfare of women.
Nancy has traveled and worked in more than 60 countries. Reflective of her global sojourns, her research produces co-authorships with culturally diverse professors. She is a Fellow of the Salzburg Global Seminar on Women and Economic Growth and has held memberships with The American Association of University Women, The Committee on the Status of Women in the Economic Profession, and The International Association of Feminist Economists (founding member of its European Division). Among other initiatives that advocate for advanced roles of women in the global economy, Nancy was designated as a mentor for the Women’s Foreign Policy Group Annual Mentor fair in 2012. A 5-time Fulbright awardee and International Research Exchanges Board (IREX) grantee, Dr. Scannell serves as a Fulbright Specialist Program peer reviewer in Business Administration and Economics.
