Undergraduate students at UIS may take Women and Gender Studies courses as electives or pursue a Women and Gender Studies minor through completion of 16 hours of WMS coursework.
Students may also pursue a self-designed degree concentrating in Women and Gender Studies. Those wishing to choose this option select a Liberal Studies major for a Bachelor of Arts degree, or an Individual Option major for a Master of Arts degree. Anyone interested in pursuing one of these degrees should contact the Liberal Studies or Individual Option programs respectively.
All students pursuing the minor or degree concentration should contact a faculty advisor in the program. Women and Gender Studies faculty assist students in planning a course of study, as well as in identifying experiential learning opportunities.
