Why Should I Volunteer?
Interesting fact: Did you know research shows that students who are more actively engaged in volunteer activities do better academically?
According to the Volunteer Survey completed by approximately 100 UIS students in May 2008, you volunteer:
- To provide service to the community
- Because you believe in the mission of the organization
- To meet new friends
- To learn new skills
- Because a friend asked you
- To prepare for a job following graduation
- To prepare for graduate school
