service wing studentsThe Leadership for Life Service Wing in Lincoln Residence Hall (LRH) is an exciting service and leadership community that provides residents of LRH with the opportunity to explore the value of civic engagement and increase their leadership potential through diverse experiences. Living in the service wing will give students the extra encouragement and guidance needed to become better leaders contributing to the world through service and volunteer activities.

The residents of the "Leadership for Life" Service Wing in Lincoln Residence Hall forge strong bonds with each other and the community.

Students living on this wing have the opportunity to:

  • undergo leadership training,
  • take part in retreats,
  • and partner with community agencies serving the local Springfield area.

How does it work?

This unique leadership opportunity is available to approximately 24 select students. First, you need to complete the application form by July 1. Once your application has been submitted, the Volunteer & Civic Engagement Center will contact you to schedule an interview to determine your volunteer interests.

Once this has been completed and your application is approved by the volunteer office, the University Housing Office will assign your room and roommate based on availability, and will notify you of your room and roommate assignment in late July.
