Community Partners: On Campus Fairs
Coming to campus for a fair is a great way to get face to face with UIS Students as potential volunteers, interns or employees. There several opportunities for you to do this throughout the year. The following are four of the strongest opportunities for you to get in direct contact with UIS students.
Fall Involvement Expo
As part of Welcome Week in August, UIS Student Life encourages student organizations, campus departments, businesses, and non-profits to show off what they have to offer. This fair is generally held in the first week of classes (late August) for the Fall semester and is scheduled for August 27, 2014 from 4-6 P.M. on the UIS quad. Click here to register for the 2014 Involvement Expo.
Foot in the Door Fair
The Foot in the Door Fair is a collaboration between the Career Development Center and the Volunteer Center intended to bring students and employers/organizations together to discuss a variety of career opportunities, both on and off-campus. These opportunities include part-time jobs, internships, and volunteer opportunities. This event is held early (generally September) in the fall semester. For more information about this year’s fair on September 25, 2014 visit The UIS Career Development Center’s Foot in the Door Fair webpage.
Spring Involvement Fair
As part of Welcome Back Week in January, UIS Student Life encourages student organizations, campus departments, businesses, and non-profits to show off what they have to offer. This fair is generally held in the first week of classes (mid-January) for the spring semester. Visit the UIS Student Life page in December for information on how to register.
Collegiate Career Fair
The Springfield Collegiate Career Fair is an annual event hosted by the career development offices of the University of Illinois Springfield, Benedictine University at Springfield, Robert Morris University, and Lincoln Land Community College. The event takes place in February, on the UIS campus and is a great way to connect students, alumni, and community job seekers with employers who are looking for candidates for jobs, internships, volunteer opportinities, and future connections. For more information about this fair visit The UIS Career Development Center’s Collegiate Career Fair webpage.
