Final Four!!

The Illini are heading to the Final Four and I get to go!!! I actually applied for the tickets last April when they held a drawing for the public. I guess about 250,000 people applied, and they only gave 10,000 tickets out. I was pretty excited when I found out I got them this summer. Plus, now that the Illini are there, it's ten times better!! :)

It's been a pretty crazy week of softball. We had a game in Arkansas, a home game, and now we're leaving tomorrow for another game and then a weekend tourney. The month of April is gonna be insane. Overall though, I'm really liking it!

Where did this semester go??

Ok, so I just realized that we are starting the month of April in just a few short days. Where in the world did this semester go??

This semester has gone by faster than any other before. I think it's been a combination of school work, softball, work, preparation for graduation, and trying to figure out what exactly to do after graduation. Plus all of us seniors are also trying to fit in as many great college memories we can in these last few months. It's so hard to believe that it's been four years already. Where did all the time go???

Last night Sheila Simon, the daughter of Paul Simon, came to UIS to speak in honor of Women's Heritage Month. All who attended said it was an excellent event.

Happy Easter!

Wow, what an amazing past few days! First of all, the Sweet Sixteen was awesome. The Illini won, plus I got to sit 5 rows behind the Illini bench along with the players' families. I also sat right next to an NBA scout for the Spurs. Plus we stayed for the Arizona/OK State game, which was a really great game. Here are a few of the pictures from that game.

Then came the weekend. Saturday was a HUGE day for the Illini! That game against Arizona was probably one of the best college basketball games I have ever seen. The comeback the Illini made was simply amazing. Everyone was going crazy!! Final Four, here we come!! And not only was the Illini game exciting, all four games were great.

Well, not too much went on around campus last week. I think most people were just trying to get back into the swing of things after Spring Break. There are a lot of great events coming up in the next few weeks, however. I'll be sure to keep you all posted!

Sweet Sixteen!!

I just found out that I get to go to the Sweet Sixteen games tomorrow!! The Illini are playing UWM tomorrow in Chicago and I'm going! I have always been a die hard Illini fan growing up around Champaign and all, but this season has just been amazing! Tomorrow is gonna be great! :)

Back to the cold weather

Well, Spring Break is officially over, and I had a great time! Florida was a blast! The last couple of days we had some amazing weather, so it was a little hard to come back to 20 degree weather. Once I get all my pictures organized, I'll be sure to put up a few.

I can hardly believe I'm about to finish up my last semester of college. Only 7 weeks left. I can't get over how fast these past four years have gone by. It's been quite a ride.

Be sure to sign up your team for the 2005 Springfest!! It's always a great event, and I have a feeling the seniors are gonna be looking to recapture the championship this year!

It's finally Spring Break!

Thank goodness, it's finally Spring Break!! These past two weeks have been so insanely busy. It'll be really nice to have a break from everything for a while. Plus the softball team is heading to Florida tomorrow morning! I can't wait to finally be in some warm weather. We're leaving tomorrow bright and early at 6am and getting back sometime Sunday. I won't be on here until then, so I hope everyone has a great Spring Break! :-)

Graduation quickly approaches

I cannot believe that I graduate exactly 2 months from today!! I just turned in my graduation contract a couple of days ago, and now we've only got 2 months to go. Very scary, but very exciting as well!

Well, the softball tourney didn't go that well this weekend. Hopefully it will warm up soon so we can actually start practicing outside. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm getting a little tired of winter. Luckily, spring break is right around the corner and the softball team is heading to Florida!! I can't wait! :-)

Quick softball update

Just thought I would give a quick update on how the first softball games of the season went. We won on first game on Saturday, but lost the next two on Sunday. Overall though, not a bad start to the season, besides the fact that it was absolutely freezing outside the whole weekend!! Hopefully we'll get some warmer weather for our tourney this weekend.

Career Services once again put on a great event with the 2005 Collegiate Career Fair being a huge success! Hopefully some of us soon-to-be graduates will benefit from attending the fair! :-)

I also wanted to mention that the UIS Communication department inducted its very first chapter of Lambda Pi Eta this past Sunday. Although I was unable to attend due to softball, I heard that it was a wonderful event with a great turnout. Congrats to all of the new inductees!
