Only one week left

Wow, only one more week left until it's time to start school again. All I can say is where in the world did my summer go??

Even though it went by fast, I really did have a great summer. A vacation out east, plenty of weddings to attend, lots of great nights with my friends in Springfield, fun trips down to Albers, and a pretty great job.

It will be kinda nice to start school again, but hopefully the semester goes by quickly. Cuz in January, it's off to Hawaii!!! :)

Summer is flying by

Wow, I can't believe that today is the first day of August. Before I know it, it will be time to start classes again. Even though it's gone by fast, it's been a pretty great summer.

Hopefully you've been checking out my feature stories I've been writing throughout the summer. I've been focusing on various students from UIS and looking at why they chose this school and what they've enjoyed most. It's been very interesting to hear the stories of other students and hopefully I will get the chance to hear even more when school starts back up!

Relaxing summer

Well, it's turning out to be quite a relaxing summer, and I couldn't be happier. This past school year was so insane and hectic, it's pretty nice to have some down time now. I work full-time at Horace Mann, then spend my nights working out, hanging out with friends, or just chilling at my new place.

Right now I'm watching the All-Star game, and unfortunately, the National League is down quite a few runs. Hopefully those Cardinals will step up pretty soon! :)

4th of July

Well, I just got back from a great weekend down in Albers with Phillip. On Sunday we went to the Cardinals game and then saw the fireworks in St. Louis. They were amazing!

Tonight I was driving back to Springfield, and I probably saw 10 different fireworks shows on my way back. It was really awesome to see. I was able to see the fireworks from both Knights Action Park and the ones down at the Capitol. Well, time to sleep now and get ready to head off to work in the morning.

Summer sports

Just got back from a fun game of volleyball at Four Seasons. I play in a co-ed division, and it's a ton of fun! We won all three games tonight, too.

Yesterday was my softball league, which was also a lot of fun. We won that game, as well, and had a blast, despite the hot, hot weather. All I know is I'm definitely keeping busy this summer!

Busy, busy summer

I cannot believe how fast this summer is going by! After starting full-time at Horace Mann, the weeks are just zipping by. Plus just about every single weekend for the entire summer is booked already. I'm actually going to 6 different weddings this summer!

Well, the job is going great. I really love what I do, and I work with a great group of people. They're teaching me so much and are able to make it a fun experience all at the same time. Well, I better get going. I'm heading out for some dollar bowling tonight with my friends!

And I'm hired!

Well, had my interview the other day with Horace Mann, and it went very well. In fact, they called me the next day and offered me the job! I think it's going to be a really great experience and I'm so excited to begin!

On a side note, living without a computer is extremely difficult I'm finding. Luckily, the laptop I ordered should be in tomorrow!
