Green Roof on Founders Residence Hall

• In August 2008, living plant matter and soil were installed on all three levels of the roof top of the new Hall, a total of 26,000 square feet. The Green Roof is expected to reduce heating and cooling costs, as well as reduce storm water runoff and sound transmittion through the structure.

Green Buildings on Campus

• The new Founders Residence Hall and The Recreation and Athletic Center (TRAC) were designed to meet or exceed U.S. Green Building Council standards.

Energy Efficiency

• A program is in place to replace the bulbs in all classrooms and office space to significantly reduce the University’s electric use.
