SPACE DESCRIPTIONS

Please note that 2 weeks are needed to process most space requests, especially those with room set-up needs. Certain Student Life spaces have a little more scheduling flexibility. These spaces include the Student Life Large Conference Room, Student Life Boardroom and Stars Lounge.

BASIC SET UP DESCRIPTIONS

Banquet

This type of set up is ideal for food based events. Each round table can seat up to 6-8 people.

Boardroom Style

This type of set up is ideal for small discussion groups with easy lines of communication between all members.

Classroom Style

The setup works well with formal presentations and still allows for some audience dialogue

Hollow Square

This type of set up is ideal for brainstroming sessions or for groups that do not have a designated presenter. Good communication lines are present for each participant.

U Shape

This type of set up allows for conversation between the presenter and audience and between the audience members themselves. Typically this type of set works best with no more than twenty people.

Brookens Auditorium

Brookens Auditorium has a capacity of 190 and fixed seating with tablet arms

Classroooms

UIS has a number of classrooms that are available for use. Please note that food or drink is not allowed in classrooms and set up stays as is in these spaces.

Diversity Center

The Diversity Center is one of the most comfy and relaxing spaces on campus. The Diversity Center offers lounge seating and can accomodate up to 50 people.

Housing Commons

Housing Commons offers plenty of comfortable lounge seating, tv access, a ping pong table, two pool tables, and a fireplace!

LRH Greatroom

The LRH Greatroom is one of the most popular reservable spaces on campus. This space can accomodate a variety of diverse events from talents shows, group discussions, dances and much more. The Greatroom has a capacity of 150 people and is equipped with a projector and sound system.

LRH Seminar Room II

Need a place for a small group meeting? With a capacity of 8, The LRH Seminar room offers a intimate setting that is often ideal for many students.

North/South Quad

The North Quad is one of the most highly travelled areas on campus since is located at the hub of campus between UHB, PAC, Brookens, and the Health Science Building

PAC Concourse Table

Located in the Food Emporium Hallway on the PAC C/D wall, this area is ideal for informational tables or bake sales.

PAC F

PAC is a tiered lectured hall with 72 fixed seats. The space comes with a projector/screen, computer, and audio.

The space comes with a projector/screen, computer, and audio.

Auditorium : 130 capacity

PAC E

PAC E has a capacity of 40 people and is often used with boardroom style seating.

Boardroom style: 24 people capacity
Classroom style: 30 people capacity
Banquet: 25 capacity
Auditorium : 40 capacity

PAC C/D is a combined space of Conference Rooms C and D. This area has flexible set up options.

Boardroom style: 60 people capacity
Classroom style: 108 people capacity
Banquet: 168 capacity
Auditorium : 240 capacity

The PAc Restaurant is often reserved for formal dinners and banquets. Please note that PAC Restaurant reservations require that food be ordered through Food Services as per Food Services Policy. Randy Williams is the Food Services contact.

SLB GYM

One of the most popular spaces for student organizations to host activities. On any given day you may find a dodgeball game, basketball game, dance practice, volleyball game, trivia night, and other activities being held in this space.

SLB Multi-Purpose Room

Our newly renovated Multi-Purpose Room now comes with brand new tiling, an in house sound system, projector and screen, and additional space. This area is often used for group activities, arts and crafts, and as a practice space for a variety of activities. The Multi-Purpose Room has a 200 person max capacity.

Stars Lounge

The Stars Lounge strives to create a community at UIS by providing a carefree environment for student socialization on campus. Big screen TV’s, ping pong tables, fooseball, video games, food bar, and more can be found at this dynamic location. The Stars Lounge can be reserved by student organizations and departments and has a capacity of 60 people. The Stars Lounge also has a projector/screen and a sound system! (Please note that while it can be reserved, the general public still has access to the space) The Stars Lounge is located inside the Student Life Building.
