Welcome to the 2008 Homecoming Website!

This is an exciting time for UIS with many new initiatives and special events.  Homecoming, one of these special events, provides alumni as well as former staff and students the chance to return home, reconnect with faculty and friends and remember their college days.  While Homecoming has been held at UIS for many years, for the first time this year we would like to involve the greater Springfield community in our Homecoming traditions.  Entitled “ Pardon Our Dust ” and set for September 29 – October 4 th, Homecoming 2008 promises to be bigger and better than ever.  

The “Pardon Our Dust” highlights the exciting new changes and additions taking place at UIS. This excitement is reflected in the Homecoming schedule as well, with many events taking place for only the second or third time. One of these is the UIS Homecoming Parade which will take place on the UIS campus and will include student organizations and campus departments in addition to high school band members and entrants representing other areas of the Springfield community. Another exciting addition to the schedule is Band Day which provides students from local high schools with a day of musical training culminating with the opportunity to participate in the UIS Homecoming parade.
