Homecoming 2011: "We Bleed Blue"
October 10 - 15, 2011

As students, staff, faculty and alumni of the University of Illinois Springfield we are committed to our institution.

The theme for Homecoming 2011, "We Bleed Blue", represents the passion and dedication the of the campus community to celebrating this spirit through a week of exciting events.

While Homecoming has been held at UIS for many years, each year sees greater involvement in our Homecoming traditions by both our alumni and the greater Springfield community.

The week promises to be one filled with fun and excitement beginning with the Homecoming Pep Rally Monday night and continuing through Saturday with various events throughout the day.

The UIS Homecoming Parade will take place once again on the UIS campus and will include student organizations and campus departments in addition to high school band members and entrants representing other areas of the Springfield community. However, this year the parade is being held on Friday afternoon instead of Saturday to allow us to use it to build spirit and create excitement for the soccer games Friday night.

An event that has quickly become a Homecoming tradition, the 5K Walk/Run sponsored by Recreational Sports, will take place again at 9 am Saturday morning.

The day – and the week – will conclude with the Student vs. Faculty/Staff/Alumni Basketball Game Saturday afternoon followed by various Homecoming reunions to be held Saturday night.

Learn more here about Homecoming and the various events scheduled throughout the week. Then plan to grab your friends and family and join us for the festivities. See you there!
