Hello Everyone!!!

The UIS Computer Science Club will be making provisions to provide transportation to and from the ACM Reflections Projections Conference in Urbana-Chapaign for October 8th and 9th. If you are interested in attending this conference (and ESPECIALLY if you are interested in participating in the programming contest), please EMAIL lacs001s@uis.edu ASAP. If you are curious what this is all about - email me (lacs001s@uis.edu) too!!!

As of this time, there are 10 students registered to attend this conference and I understand there are enough interested to compose at least one 3-person team to represent UIS in the programming contest - those interested in this contest, need to contact me ASAP. There is also a job fair that goes along with this conference - major companies like Apple, Sun, Microsoft, IBM, ADM, Google, EA Games and MANY MORE will be recruiting - submit your resume NOW!

Please visit the conference website http://www.acm.uiuc.edu/conference to register yourself if you are interested in attending. This is a necessary first step. You do not have to be a member of the Computer Science Club to attend.

Active Minds @ UIS - DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY?

Support Your Local Active Minds Chapter!! Visit our website: http://students.uis.edu/organizations/activeminds/

DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY? WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!!

So many of us have been touched with mental health issues or at least know of someone who has. Active Minds wants to hear your stories – your struggles, triumphs, and everything in-between. We aim to publish a journal of writings by UIS students full of essays and poems by the Fall 05 mid-term. Please send your stories to activeminds@uis.edu

Because of the sensitivity of this topic we understand the need for anonymity so if this is a factor and email does not feel secure enough to you please send your writings to our Student Advisor: Dr. Larry Livingston at Mail Stop BRK 337.

*Be sure and let us know if you DO want your name published. The deadline is October 1, 2005.
