Spring 2007 SGA Election Results
Congratulations to all candidates as they demonstrated leadership through their willingness to assume the responsibility associated with these important positions. For your information, three election complaints (two of them involved the same issue) were filed and the Election Committee convened and reviewed the complaints. While one of the complaints was withdrawn, the Elections Committee reviewed the other two complaints. Their recommendation which, along with the election results, was accepted and certified earlier today by Ed Wojcicki, Associate Chancellor for Constituent Relations, was to eliminate the Vice President race from the Spring 2007 Election and the to re-run this race as part of the election in the fall. Note: the VP race in the fall will only involve the two students who were on the ballot during this election – no additional candidates will be allowed to run for this position.
Student Representative to the Board of Trustees - Sarah Doyle
President - Bob Skorczewski
Secretary - Kedari Reddy
Treasurer – Ashwin Prashanth
Senator - Liberal Arts & Sciences - Shiva Chaitaniya
Senator - Business & Management: Steven Lupa

As in every election, not all candidates were successful in obtaining their desired position. There are numerous other leadership opportunities on SGA committees that you may wish to pursue and I highly encourage you to do so.
Note: In accordance with the SGA Constitution, this election only involved the SGA positions mentioned above. An election will be held again in the fall for all other senator positions. In addition, numerous other leadership opportunities are available on SGA committees that you may wish to pursue and I highly encourage you to do so.
Thanks again for your efforts to make UIS a better place for students! If you have any questions about these results or about Student Government, feel free to contact Cynthia Thompson at 217-206-6665 or e-mail to thompson.cynthia@uis.edu.
