Degrees of Lucky
“Degrees of Lucky,” a one-act play written by Judith Schlessinger Dyer, will be presented publicly for the first time at a reading in the Studio Theatre, University of Illinois at Springfield, Monday, November 28, 2005, starting at 7:00 p.m. The presentation of “Degrees of Lucky” is meant to continue to celebrate the vitality and spirit of Judy's life though she finally succumbed to breast cancer on November 6.
The play is about two breast cancer survivors who correspond by e-mail for two years and then decide to get together the evening before a “race for the cure” in New York. Under the direction of Missy Thibodeaux-Thompson, the reading will be performed by four local actors. At its conclusion, a brief question and answer period, and a reception, will follow the reading performance.
Because of some graphic sexual dialogue, it is recommended for mature audiences only.
This readers’ theatre presentation is free and open to the UIS community and to the public.
