Guidelines
Purpose: The purpose of this program is to promote the co-curricular development of graduate and undergraduate students at the University of Illinois Springfield. Any allocation made is intended to help offset the costs associated with attending at a professional development conference or other educational opportunity. Note: It is not intended to cover all the costs associated with these activities.
Type of support: The program will provide support for conference registration. No travel or hotel cost will be provided for conferences. Students may submit more than one application but will not receive more than $500 in any one academic year for conference registrations.
Eligibility: Any graduate or undergraduate student currently enrolled at UIS and in good academic standing is eligible to apply. Good academic standing for undergrads is a cumulative 2.5 GPA; for graduates it is a cumulative 3.0 GPA. Both full time and part time students are eligible to apply for funding.
Follow-up Presentation: Recipients of this award are required to share the knowledge they gained from the conference with the campus community. This may be done in various ways, given the nature of the research project/conference attended and the information gained. Students should contact their faculty or department sponsor to determine the most appropriate forum for this activity.
Procedure
To apply for this program, submit the application form and supporting documentation of the conference to the Student Life Office, SAB 20. Application forms are also available from the Student Life Office. The application must be signed by the student requesting the funds and a faculty or department sponsor.
Application deadlines are based on the conference dates, as listed below. Applications will be accepted as long as funding remains available.

| September 10 | Application deadline for conference between September 18 and December 31 |
| December 1 | Application deadline for conference between January 1 and June 30 |
