4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.    Academic Advising (by advance appointment only)

4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.   Financial Aid Advising Available

4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.   Academic/ Course Registration Available

4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.   Student & Academic Services fair

RSVP

To aid us in our planning, we ask that you please RSVP at least 3 days (7 days if you are requesting an advising appointment) prior to your requested orientation date by one of the following means:

  1. Complete the form on the website for instant enrollment (RSVP form).
  2. Telephone the Orientation Coordinator at (217) 206-6662, or E-mail to studentorientation@uis.edu.

At Orientation you will be able to do the following:

Register for classes or make changes to your registration

  • Receive your Student I.D Card. (Bring a photo ID with you)
  • Visit the Bookstore
  • Receive information about campus and community housing, submit a housing application and/or check on the status of your campus housing application.
  • Learn about the campus insurance requirement and complete your “Insurance Waiver” if needed – bring proof of health insurance (your insurance card) to do so.
  • Learn about immunization requirements and submit your immunization record (if you have not already done so.)
  • Receive Financial Aid information, forms and advising.
  • Purchase your campus parking decal on-line at http://www.uis.edu/police/parkingdecal.htm -the cost is $30 for spring semester
  • Learn about campus e-mail, the wireless network and other technology services
  • Learn about the Library and many other academic support and student services
  • Receive a tour of campus

Remember to Bring:

  • To obtain your Student ID: Photo ID: (drivers license, passport or state issued ID card)
  • Spring Parking Decal: $30.00 per semester, vehicle description & license plate number, driver's license number, UIS student ID number.
  • To waive Student Health Insurance: A copy of your proof of insurance (insurance card) from your health insurance provider.
  • Immunization Records for Student Health Services.
