“The Student Organization Funding Association (SOFA) is a standing committee of the Student Government Association (SGA). As a guiding body for student organizations under the SGA, this committee looks to allocate University funds to student organizations in a fair, unbiased, and efficient way, so as to promote student interaction and a positive learning environment on campus.”
To encourage campus organizations to plan, host and coordinate events and activities, SOFA’s membership consists of all students, organizations and clubs.
However, no individual may represent more than one student organization. Representatives are responsible for regularly attending scheduled SOFA meetings. Meetings are open for all students to attend.
Organizations seeking grants from the SOFA should submit a SOFA Budget Request Form from www.uis.edu/studentlife. Early submissions are encouraged.
Students! SOFA is now accepting nominations for the Student Organization of the Month!
