As Senator of Public Affairs and Administration it has been an honor representing the student body on SGA. I have served with constant dedication toward representing the concerns of all UIS students and hopefully, with your vote of approval on April 16th, I will be trusted to serve another term as your Senator.
One of the issues that I feel is a major concern to the student body is the issue of housing, which all returning students will soon have to start thinking about. I am currently working with the Student Government to pass a resolution stating that the current regulations regarding Capital Scholars Honors Students and General Education Students, when it comes to partitioning the two programs, should be disregarded, if both an Honors student and a Gen. Ed. Student request to dorm with each other. I feel that friendship among roommates is more important, than whether or not they take the same classes, toward creating a successful academic environment.
In order for UIS to grow, I will continue to ensure that students will have the utmost possible funding for student activities and organizations, which is necessary for creating an enjoyable campus environment. My number one goal, as Senator, will be to continue my efforts toward ensuring that the concerns of my fellow students are given the utmost attention by the administration and the Student Government.
