Candidate for the Position of: Treasurer
I am currently triple majoring in Accountancy, Business Administration, and Economics. Being a part of the Student Government Association, personally, means more than holding an important position. To be the voice for the students, brings social responsibility. Holding the position of Treasurer gives me an opportunity to make the changes that everyone else talks about and deal with the issues of our upcoming budget cuts due to a decrease student enrollment. As an active member in various student organizations I will make sure that we are not forgotten. During the previous semester, I have made my place on campus and I have what it takes to carry out the responsibilities of this position. I am a candidate who represents a diverse population on campus through various activities and organizations. My voice and my issues represent the student body. I am an advocate for students’ issues and I consider it a priority to be approachable by faculty, staff, and students campus wide. With previous student government experiences, I learn new things each year and I try to raise the bar for commitment and consistency of the organization.
As students we should eagerly anticipate the upcoming school year, and I will try to make this possible. I will work together with faculty, staff, and administration to continue the strides made toward improving academic services to every student. Aside from academic progressions, if elected, I will make sure all issues are presented! This year is our year to embrace our capabilities of not only an academic institution, but also bring attention to our athletics. As Treasurer I will help prepare our school for the inevitable growth over the years to come. I am honestly excited about making this school year successful and more enjoyable for everyone. Once again, let’s make it happen UIS!
