My name is Amy Camp, and I am running for reelection for the position of Student Representative to the Peoria Campus. My experience extends beyond serving as the Senator to the Peoria Campus; I have also successfully served on many campus committees. Over the past year of service, I have worked diligently to create a campus link uniting Springfield and Peoria, establishing an opportunity for all to become aware of and learn from the other.
The University offers countless opportunities, and I would like to further help students discover these opportunities. For instance, last year I found that many students and faculty alike were not familiar with the UIS Career Development Center (CDC) and the priceless services they offer. I aim to continue working with the CDC in efforts to get the word out to every enrolled student at the University. I continue to believe that the college experience is advantageous not only for the academics, but also for meeting new people, discovering new entities, and growing as individuals.
If reelected, I will continue to do my best to serve as a liaison between both the Springfield and Peoria Campuses. I vow to always listen, learn, and contribute to UIS, as a whole, with a positive demeanor. I, Amy Camp, would truly value your vote come this September 19 & 20.
