The University of Illinois at Springfield is pleased to have two fully functional, well equipped performing arts spaces that are available for rent by community groups, not-for-profit, and for-profit entities. Both the Sangamon Auditorium and the UIS Studio Theatre have been utilized for events ranging from lectures, to dance recitals, to graduations, to theatre productions, to dinners/fundraisers and trade shows.

Individuals and groups interested in renting either the Sangamon Auditorium or the Studio Theatre, are asked to review the information guides for these spaces and to contact the Front of House Staff at 217. 206. 6150 or email: jmill7@uis.edu to discuss availability, pricing and arrangements.

Sangamon Auditorium

The only auditorium of its kind and size in the Springfield area, Sangamon Auditorium has a seating capacity of 2,018 seats. For over 25 years it has served the UIS campus and the Springfield area community as a first class performing arts facility and location for numerous community events.

UIS Studio Theatre

The UIS Studio Theatre is one of the best kept secrets of the University of Illinois at Springfield.  Depending on the configuration and the event, the UIS Studio Theatre can seat anywhere between 100 to 350 patrons for a single performance.
