Illinois Symphony Orchestra's Concert for Kids
"The Orchestra Sings"

In The Orchestra Sings, students are guided through an exploration of melody in music as they examine and learn a variety of works, including Dvorak’s “New World” Symphony, an arrangement of the traditional I Bought Me a Cat, Beethoven’s Ode to Joy, and Thomas Cabaniss’s To Make Words Sing. Students sing, play the recorder, compose, and perform in a culminating concert with the Illinois Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Alastair Willis. This program is in partnership with Carnegie Hall’s Link Up program.

Program Length: 45 minutes
