APPROVE AGENDA:              
               
APPROVAL of MINUTES:            
               
NEW BUSINESS: Wes passed out copies of the civil service/AP pre-employment screening 
  policy. This delineates what testing will be conducted after a conditional
  offer of employment has been presented to a candidate. The prospective 
  employee has 2 working days to appeal the drug decision. Results are
  confidential that is, not even shared with the unit.    
  Andy's committee to form a "Welcoming committee" for new CS staff and 
  APs proposed that a variety of times be offered to include Bldg. service 
  workers and Food service employees. It should also be an informal process
  ie.coffee and donuts in the morning and cash bar in the afernoon. Committee
  members should also receive mandatory release time to offer this. Just how 
  many people should be on the committee is under discussion.  
               
OLD BUSINESS: Jamie thought that having the golf outing somewhere around "first week" was
  a good idea also that we should talk with the developement office about
  sharing this golf outing with other departments like English, Chemistry etc.
  New thoughts on morale ideas included: improvements to Brookens library
  having access to both health and counseling servces. Bobbie said she would
  ask Janice to share the Scholarship fund balance with us at the next meeting.
  Next Council meeting was tentatively set for March 7th, 2007.  
               
COMMITTEE REPORTS: Jamie stated that the Campus Planning Committee is working on FY '09
  goals and objectives.

APPROVAL of MINUTES:            
               
NEW BUSINESS: Provost Berman will allow the council $250 for year 2008 and if we have any
  expenses from 2007 he would be willing to help with payment. Bobbie reported
  that their union meeting with the Chancellor went quite positively. Bobbie 
  brought up that a Civil Service annual award like the AP "CAPE" award should 
  be instituted for the Civil Service personnel as well as a "Civil Serv. Appreciation
  Day". The Chancellor stated that formal proposals be submitted to Ed Wojcicki. 
  The Chancellor expressed his desire that the residing students in the new     
  residence hall have designated parking areas and that he would work towards
  faculty/staff "only" parking lots but nothing is firm at this time. Janice expressed
  need for signage for CSAC ie.letterhead, envelopes, logo etc.
