The University Of Illinois Board Of Trustees (BOT) approved changes in tuition rates to be effective with the Fall 2008 semester. As a result, please note the following pertaining to Summer 2008 tuition rates:
1. As of Summer 2008, the four year guaranteed rates for students who entered in SM04, FL04, or SP05 ended; students in this category now pay non-guaranteed rates that are consistent with the guaranteed rates charged to students who entered in SM05, FL05, or SP06. However, the rates for students who entered in SM04, FL04, or SP05 for Summer 2008 are the same as those used for the prior year. Starting Fall 2008, the rates will be increased to be consistent with the rates charged to students who entered in SM05, FL05, or SP06.
2. The guaranteed rates for students entering Summer 2008 are the same as the guaranteed rates for students entering during the prior year. Starting Fall 2008, students entering Summer 2008 will pay the new guaranteed rates that were approved by the BOT.
3. The non-guaranteed undergraduate and graduate rates for Summer 2008 are the same as those used for the prior year. Starting Fall 2008, the non-guaranteed undergraduate and graduate rates will be increased to the new non-guaranteed rates that were approved by the BOT.

- All non-residents of Illinois who have applied and been admitted as a degree-seeking student in an online program and take only online courses.
Non-residents of Illinois who do not meet the criteria itemized in (2) above are charged out-of-state tuition rates when they enroll in online courses. For the Summer 2008 semester, the E-tuition rates are:
- Undergraduate (Non-guaranteed): $201.75 per credit hour

MANDATORY FEES/ASSESSMENTS:
These fees are charged to all students, whether they plan to benefit from the fees or not.
| Full-time Students (Enrolled in 6 or more hours) |
$435.00 |
Part-time Students (Enrolled in less than 6 hours) |
$373.50 |
All full-time and part-time students are charged the mandatory fee amounts above. Exception 1: Online Program Students (those individuals who have been fully admitted to an online degree program and are enrolled in only online courses) pay $9. In addition, Online Program Students admitted Summer 2007 or thereafter will also be assessed an Online Student Services Fee of $66 (part-time) or $132 (full-time). Note: The Online Student Services Fee for Online Program Students will be assessed based upon total enrollment hours, regardless of course delivery method. Online Program Students not enrolled in 100% online courses WILL BE ASSESSED REGULAR FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME FEES. Exception 2: Students participating in the Senior Learner Program do not pay mandatory fees, but do pay a non-refundable $40 Senior Learner Fee, in addition to the $2 Student-to-Student Grant Fee, and all course related fees.
All full-time and part-time students are charged the Student Insurance Fee (this $122 amount is reflected in the mandatory fee amounts above). Exception: Students who are enrolled in only online courses will not be eligible for insurance coverage and will not be assessed the fee. Note: The insurance amount is subject to change pending new contract.
All full-time and part-time students are charged the Student-to-Student Grant Fee. This fee provides financial support to undergraduate and graduate students who demonstrate high financial need. The fee has been included in the mandatory fee amounts listed above because it is assessed each term. However, it may be waived if requested. For Summer 2008, the waiver must be requested between June 2nd and June 6th at the Bursar's Office.
All full-time and part-time students admitted in Summer 2006 and thereafter, as well as those undergraduate students paying the non-guaranteed tuition rate, are charged the Academic Facility Maintenance Fund Assessment (this $9 per hour charge is NOT reflected in the mandatory fee amounts above). Exception: Online Program Students (those individuals who have been fully admitted to an online degree program and are enrolled in only online courses) are not charged this assessment.
In addition to the tuition and fee amounts above, students enrolled in certain courses must also pay course fees (see table below).*

E-BILLS:
The University no longer mails paper billing statements to currently enrolled students. You will receive E-Bills. E-Bills are online student billing statements that display the same information as traditional paper billing statements. E-Bills are a feature within UI-Pay, the online student billing and payment system.
Each month you will receive an e-mail notification to your official University e-mail address that your e-bill is available. To view E-bills, login to UI-Integrate Self-Service site at:
https://apps.uillinois.edu/selfservice/index.html. To view current activity of your student account, select "Account Billing Information."
For more information about E-Bills, please go to: https://epay.uillinois.edu/ebills.html.
For more information about billing, due dates, or payment methods, please go to: http://www.usfsco.uillinois.edu.

PAYMENT METHODS:
You must pay your bill in full by the due date on your original statement. A delinquent service charge of 1.5% (subject to change) is added per month to past due charges. The delinquent service charge is applied to all items charged to the student account that are past due. At any point in the semester, a student who has a delinquent account exceeding the dollar limitation may not be permitted to register for further classes. If you are in debt to the University, you are not entitled to receive either a diploma or an official transcript.
Credit/Debit card transactions are no longer accepted at the Bursar's Office. UIS accepts credit card payments (Discover, MasterCard, and American Express only) online at http://www.usfsco.uillinois.edu. There is a 2% convenience fee for this service. You also have the option to pay with an e-check (no fee). Regardless of the payment plan selected, financial aid disbursements will be applied to all allowable charges due from the student, including but not limited to, tuition, fees, housing, and any financial aid advances in the form of a short term loan for the current period of enrollment. UIS reserves the right to require payment of all charges at the time they are incurred.
If you make no payment at all and then withdraw from UIS, you are liable for the full amount of tuition and fees originally assessed, less applicable credits to the account, according to the Board of Trustees policy.
Students will be held responsible for paying all attorney's fees and other reasonable collection costs and charges necessary for the collection of any tuition, fees, and/or other charges assessed by the University that are not paid when due.
