E-TUITION:
UIS has implemented a special tuition rate that applies only to online courses. This rate is termed "electronic tuition," or simply "E-tuition." The following students will qualify for E-tuition:
(1) All Illinois residents who have applied and been admitted as a degree-seeking student in an online program and take only online courses.
(2) All non-residents of Illinois who have applied and been admitted as a degree-seeking student in an online program and take only online courses.
Non-residents of Illinois who do not meet the criteria itemized in (2) above are charged out-of-state tuition rates when they enroll in online courses. For the Summer 2005 semester, the E-tuition rates are:
Undergraduate (Continuing): $131.75 per credit hour
Undergraduate (SM04, FL04, SP05): $133.50 per credit hour
Undergraduate (SM05, FL05, SP06): $160.00 per credit hour
Graduate (Continuing): $163.25 per credit hour
Graduate (SM05, FL05, SP06): $173.75 per credit hour

These fees are charged to all students, whether they plan to benefit from the fees or not.
| Full-time Students (Enrolled in 6 or more hours) |
$374.00 |
| Part-time Students (Enrolled in less than 6 hours) |
$319.50 |
All full-time and part-time students are charged the mandatory fee amounts above. Exception: Online Program Students (those individuals who have been fully admitted to an online degree program and are enrolled in only online courses) pay $5. Online Program Students not enrolled in 100% online courses WILL BE ASSESSED REGULAR FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME FEES.
All full-time and part-time students are charged the Student Insurance fee (this $157 amount is reflected in the mandatory fee amounts above). Exception: Students who are enrolled in only online courses will not be eligible for insurance coverage and will not be assessed the fee. Note: The insurance amount is subject to change pending new contract.
In addition to the tuition and fee amounts above, students enrolled in certain courses must also pay course fees (see table below).*

E-BILLS:
The University no longer mails paper billing statements to currently enrolled students. You will receive E-Bills. E-Bills are online student billing statements that display the same information as traditional paper billing statements. E-Bills are a feature within UI-Pay, the online student billing and payment system.
Each month you will receive an e-mail notification to your official University e-mail address that your e-bill is available. To view E-bills, logon to UI-Integrate Self-Service site at: https://apps.uillinois.edu/selfservice/index.html. To view current activity of your student account, select "View Account Summary By Term."
For more information about E-Bills, please go to: https://epay.uillinois.edu/ebills.html.
For more information about billing, due dates, or payment methods, please go to: http://www.uis.edu/studentaccounts/.
PAYMENT METHODS:
You may choose to pay your bill in full by the due date on your original statement or you will automatically be placed on the installment plan for tuition, fees and housing. The installment plan and due dates are listed on the original statement. If you do not pay the entire balance in full by the due date, you will be placed on the installment plan for the eligible charges. The installment plan has a one-time deferment charge of 1.5% on the amount deferred. These charges are payable in two installments for the summer semester. An installment payment becomes delinquent on the first day of the month following the date payment was due.
A delinquent service charge of 1.75% (subject to change) is added per month to past due charges. The delinquent service charge is applied to all items charged to the student account that are past due. At any point in the semester, a student who has a delinquent account exceeding the dollar limitation may not be permitted to register for further classes. If you are in debt to the University, you are not entitled to receive either a diploma or an official transcript.
Credit/Debit card transactions are no longer accepted at the Bursar's Office. UIS accepts credit card payments (Discover and American Express only) online at http://www.uis.edu/studentaccounts/. There is a 2% convenience fee for this service. You also have the option to pay with an e-check (no fee). Regardless of the payment plan selected, financial aid disbursements will be applied to all allowable charges due from the student, including but not limited to, tuition, fees, housing, and any financial aid advances in the form of a short term loan for the current period of enrollment. UIS reserves the right to require payment of all charges at the time they are incurred.
If you are permitted to pay tuition and fees on the installment plan, or if you make no payment at all and then withdraw from UIS, you are liable for the full amount of tuition and fees originally assessed, less applicable credits to the account, according to the Board of Trustees policy.
Students will be held responsible for paying all attorney's fees and other reasonable collection costs and charges necessary for the collection of any tuition, fees, and/or other charges assessed by the University that are not paid when due.
