These fees are charged to all students, whether they plan to benefit from the fees or not.
| Full-time Students (Enrolled in 12 or more hours) | $853.50 plus $5 per credit hour |
| Part-time Students (Enrolled in less than 12 hours) | $726.50 plus $5 per credit hour |
All full-time and part-time students are charged the mandatory fee amounts above.
- Exception 1: Online Program Students (those individuals who have been fully admitted to an online degree program and are enrolled in only online courses) pay $19.50 plus $5 per credit hour. In addition, Online Program Students admitted or reactivated Summer 2007 or thereafter will also be assessed an Online Student Services Fee of $66 (part-time) or $132 (full-time). Note: The Online Student Services Fee for Online Program Students will be assessed based upon total enrollment hours, regardless of course delivery method. Online Program Students not enrolled in 100% online courses WILL BE ASSESSED REGULAR FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME FEES.
- Exception 2: Students participating in the Senior Learner Program do not pay mandatory fees or assessments, but do pay a non-refundable $40 Senior Learner Fee, in addition to the $4 Student-to-Student Grant Fee, and all course related fees.
All full-time and part-time students are charged the Student Insurance Fee (this $263 amount IS reflected in the mandatory fee amounts above).
- Exception: Students who are enrolled in only online courses will not be eligible for insurance coverage and will not be assessed the fee.
- Note: The insurance amount is subject to change pending new contract.
All full-time and part-time students are charged the Student-to-Student Grant Fee (this $4 amount IS reflected in the mandatory fee amounts above). This fee provides financial support to undergraduate and graduate students who demonstrate high financial need. The fee has been included in the mandatory fee amounts listed above because it is assessed each term. However, it may be waived if requested. For Fall 2009, the waiver must be requested between August 24 and September 25 at the Bursar's Office.
All full-time and part-time students are charged the Campus and Library Technology Assessment (this $5 per hour charge IS reflected in the mandatory fee amounts above).
All full-time and part-time students admitted or reactivated in Summer 2006 and thereafter, as well as those undergraduate students paying the non-guaranteed tuition rate, are charged the Academic Facility Maintenance Fund Assessment (this $9.36 per hour charge is NOT reflected in the mandatory fee amounts above).
- Exception: Online Program Students (those individuals who have been fully admitted to an online degree program and are enrolled in only online courses) are not charged this assessment.
In addition to the tuition and fee amounts above, students enrolled in certain courses must also pay course fees (see table below).*

E-Bills:
The University of Illinois creates official billing statements for all students. However, currently registered students (and their Authorized Payers) must retrieve their billing statements online. An E-Bill (electronic bill) is an official billing statement in PDF format that is available online for students and authorized payers to view, save, and print. The E-bill includes all student account transactions such as: payments received, and charges and credits for tuition, fees, housing. Each month all students are notified via their official University e-mail account when their E-bill is available to view and print. Through UI-Pay, students may provide one or two additional email addresses to allow an Authorized Payer (i.e. parent, guardian, spouse, sponsor) to receive these monthly E-bill notifications. Students can access their E-bill by logging into the UI-Integrate Self-Service website at
https://apps.uillinois.edu/selfservice/index.html and complete the following: select "Account Billing Information", select "E-Bill", select "View Accounts", and select "Current Statement" and select "View as PDF."
For more information about E-Bills, please go to: http://www.usfsco.uillinois.edu/billing.html#ebills.
For more information about billing, due dates, or payment methods, please go to: http://www.usfsco.uillinois.edu.
Payment Methods:
E-Bills are expected to be paid in full by the due date, which is set at the 28th of each month. A Late Payment charge of 1.5% (subject to change) per month, is assessed on all past due balances. At any point in the semester, a student who has a past due account exceeding the dollar limitation may not be permitted to register for further classes. If you are in debt to the University, you are not entitled to receive either a diploma or an official transcript.
Credit card (Discover, MasterCard, and American Express only) payments are only accepted online through UI-Pay system. To make an online payment: logon to the UI-Integrate Self Service site at http://apps.uillinois.edu/selfservice/index.html, select "Account Billing Information", select "E-Bill", select "Make Payment." A 2.40% convenience fee is assessed at the time of payment when paying with credit card. There is no additional fee assessed using the e-check option. A new Pre-payment Plan option is now available. For details and enrollment deadlines, visit our website at http://www.usfsco.uillinois.edu/prepaymentplan.html.
Regardless of the payment plan selected, financial aid disbursements will be applied to all allowable charges due from the student, including but not limited to, tuition, fees, housing, and any financial aid advances in the form of a short term loan for the current period of enrollment. UIS reserves the right to require payment of all charges at the time they are incurred.
If you make no payment at all and then withdraw from UIS, you are liable for the full amount of tuition and fees originally assessed, less applicable credits to the account, according to the Board of Trustees policy.
Students will be held responsible for paying all attorney's fees and other reasonable collection costs and charges necessary for the collection of any tuition, fees, and/or other charges assessed by the University that are not paid when due.
