charges and payment methods.
Tuition increases have been effective with the summer term at the beginning of each academic year under the Illinois guaranteed tuition program. However, the University Of Illinois Board Of Trustees did not act on tuition for academic year 2007-2008 until their May 17, 2007, meeting. This will not allow enough time to implement the new rates for Summer 2007. Therefore, new undergraduate students will be charged the academic year 2006-2007 rates for Summer 2007. They will begin paying the entering academic year 2007-2008 rates beginning with the fall term of 2007.

MANDATORY FEES/ASSESSMENTS:
These fees are charged to all students, whether they plan to benefit from the fees or not.

or more hours) |
$744.00 |
| Part-time Students (Enrolled in less

program and are enrolled in only online courses) pay $14. In addition,
Online Program Students admitted Summer 2007 or thereafter will
also be assessed an Online Student Services Fee of $66 (part-time)
or $132 (full-time). Note: The Online Student Services Fee for
Online Program Students will be assessed based upon total enrollment
hours, regardless of course delivery method. Online Program Students
not enrolled in 100% online courses WILL BE ASSESSED REGULAR
FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME FEES. Exception 2: Students participating

a non-refundable $40 Senior Learner Fee, in addition to the $2 Student-to-Student

will not be eligible for insurance coverage and will not be assessed
the fee. Note: The insurance amount is subject to change pending
new contract.
All full-time and part-time students are charged the Student-to-Student
Grant Fee. This fee provides financial support to undergraduate
and graduate students who demonstrate high financial need. The
fee has been included in the mandatory fee amounts listed above
because it is assessed each term. However, it may be waived if
requested. For Fall 2007, the waiver must be requested between
August 20 and August 31 at the Bursar's Office.
All full-time and part-time students admitted in Summer 2006 and thereafter, as well as those undergraduate students paying the non-guaranteed tuition rate, are charged the Academic Facility Maintenance Fund Assessment (this $8.67 per hour charge is NOT reflected in the mandatory fee amounts above). Exception: Online Program Students (those individuals who have been fully admitted to an online degree program and are enrolled in only online courses) are not charged this assessment.

E-BILLS:
The University no longer mails paper billing statements to currently enrolled students. You will receive E-Bills. E-Bills are online student billing statements that display the same information as traditional paper billing statements. E-Bills are a feature within UI-Pay, the online student billing and payment system.
Each month you will receive an e-mail notification to your official
University e-mail address that your e-bill is available. To view
E-bills, login to UI-Integrate Self-Service site at:
https://apps.uillinois.edu/selfservice/index.html.
To view current activity of your student account, select "Account
Billing Information."
For more information about E-Bills, please go to: https://epay.uillinois.edu/ebills.html.
For more information about billing, due dates, or payment methods, please go to: http://www.uis.edu/studentaccounts/.

PAYMENT METHODS:
You must pay your bill in full by the due date on your original
statement. A delinquent service charge of 1.5% (subject to change)
is added per month to past due charges. The delinquent service
charge is applied to all items charged to the student account that
are past due. At any point in the semester, a student who has a
delinquent account exceeding the dollar limitation may not be permitted
to register for further classes. If you are in debt to the University,
you are not entitled to receive either a diploma or an official
transcript.
Credit/Debit card transactions are no longer accepted at the Bursar's Office. UIS accepts credit card payments (Discover, MasterCard, and American Express only) online at http://www.uis.edu/studentaccounts/. There is a 2% convenience fee for this service. You also have the option to pay with an e-check (no fee). Regardless of the payment plan selected, financial aid disbursements will be applied to all allowable charges due from the student, including but not limited to, tuition, fees, housing, and any financial aid advances in the form of a short term loan for the current period of enrollment. UIS reserves the right to require payment of all charges at the time they are incurred.
If you make no payment at all and then withdraw from UIS, you
are liable for the full amount of tuition and fees originally assessed,
less applicable credits to the account, according to the Board
of Trustees policy.
Students will be held responsible for paying all attorney's fees and other reasonable collection costs and charges necessary for the collection of any tuition, fees, and/or other charges assessed by the University that are not paid when due.
