REGISTRATION: The registration deadline is

• 10:30am CST, Thursday, March 21, 2013 for the Men’s Tournament.
• 5:00pm CST, Friday, March 22, 2013 for the Women’s Tournament.

REGISTRATION FORMS: Brackets will be available at the links to the left as soon as possible after the tournament selection has concluded. MAXIMUM 1 ENTRY PER PARTICIPANT PER TOURNAMENT! Tournament forms must be submitted to the Recreational Sports Office in one of the following ways before the deadline date and time.  Late entries will not be accepted:

• Complete the Excel bracket on line, print out, and drop off at the Recreational Sports Office in TRAC 1008. You may need to ‘Enable Editing’.
• Complete the Excel bracket on line, save it, and attach it to an e-mail sent to recsports@uis.edu. You may need to ‘Enable Editing’.

SCORING: Each participant will be required to fill out, in its entirety, the Recreational Sports version of the 2013 NCAA Tournament bracket. Each round is designated with a certain point total; points are awarded for picking the correct winner by round:

• Men’s Tournament
  • Note: First four game winners do not have to be picked this year! If you want a first four team to advance, write them in, but you do not have to have the correct team picked.
• 2nd round winners = 1 pt.
• 3rd round winners = 2 pts.
• Regional Semifinal round winners = 3 pts.
• Regional Final round winners = 5 pts.
• National Semifinal round winners = 7 pts.
• Championship winner = 10 pts.
• Women’s Tournament
  • 1st round winners = 1 pt.
  • 2nd round winners = 2 pts.
  • Regional Semifinal round winners = 3 pts.
  • Regional Final round winners = 5 pts.
  • National Semifinal round winners = 7 pts.
  • Championship winner = 10 pts.

Each participant will select the winner of each game in each round of the tournament. Points will accumulate for participants for each correct pick. In the event of a tie between participants, the following tiebreakers will be used:

• Total points scored by the two teams in the Championship Game
• Total Points scored by the four teams in the Final Four games.
• If there is no clear winner from the aforementioned tiebreakers, a coin flip will determine the winner.

WINNERS: The top male and female in each tournament that accumulates the most points will be announced and notified upon completion of the tournament. Both the Men’s Tournament Bracket and the Women’s Tournament Bracket will be updated periodically on the Rec Sports website Special Event webpage for you to “bracket-watch”!
