Claudine Cordray, DVM has recently launched a new community health resources website.
"After completing my MPH studies at the University of Illinois -Springfield, I embarked on a mission to create a much-needed website focused on improving community health, but from a fresh and unique angle. The result: www.OurHealthcares.com, an advertisement-free website where one can quickly and easily discover local healthcare-sponsored health events. As well, one can connect to reputable health information and view the latest CHNA's (community health needs assessments) for their area.
More and more healthcare organizations are offering free or low-cost health screenings, seminars, support groups and other events in response to the health needs of the communities they serve. OurHealthcares.com showcases these organizations, and in doing so, hopes to encourage other organizations to get involved. Membership is always free for any government organization posting a link on their website.
Please visit www.OurHealthcares.com (http://www.ourhealthcares.com/) today to find out what is happening in your neighborhood, and do pass this website along to others. We encourage community organizations, colleges, churches, businesses, and all healthcare organizations to post our link on their websites. Healthy communities are the foundation of a healthy nation, and we all have a role to play.
A special thanks to my professors at the University of Illinois- Springfield College of Public Health for my superb education in the vitally important yet often underappreciated field of Public Health."
