The ultimate educational intent of the Master of Public Health [M.P.H.] program is to graduate competent public health professionals knowledgeable in all aspects of public health practice. The public health professional needs to have a broad understanding of public health issues and a strong scientific basis to intelligently relate to diverse public health topics. The MPH program equips students with the leadership skills and knowledge to critically analyze the myriad of issues in various segments of public health practice.

Students who are missing any of these prerequsites may be eligible for conditional enrollment. All conditions must be completed within the first year of enrollment.
Admission is a two-part process. The first part is to complete the UIS Application for Graduate Admission. The UIS Office of Admissions requires the University application, application fee and official transcripts.
The second part requires the following:
Applicants may submit reference letters instead of using the reference form. Applicants may submit other graduate proficiency exams, such as GMAT or MCAT in lieu of the GRE. Students who have already earned a post-Bachelopr's credential do not need to submit GRE scores.
Students who take the TOEFL exam must achieve a score of 580 or higher.
