Junfeng Wang, is an assistant professor in the Department of Public Administration. She received a PhD in Public Policy from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, an MPA from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and a BS in Geophysics from China University of Mining & Technology.
Dr. Wang joined the department in August 2010. She has been teaching PAD501 Introduction to the Profession, PAD503 Analytical Tools, and PAD554 Community Planning Tools on a regular basis. She has also been actively involved in the DPA program including teaching classes, writing a section of the qualifying exams, and chairing or serving on dissertation committees.
Her main research interests include the health impact of brownfield redevelopment, land use decision making, and connecting MPA education with practitioner needs. In the last two years, she has worked with colleagues on a book manuscript on local community action leadership. Her most recent research is about practitioners’ IT needs and IT education in MPA programs.
