The MPA Online

The Online UIS Master of Public Administration degree is designed to impart essential knowledge and skills to the non-traditional, time-restricted, place-bound, and long-distance learner preparing them to be successful in professional and administrative employment in public and nonprofit sectors.

The 40-hour MPA degree follows the same curriculum as the on-campus program with a few exceptions. Certificates in Nonprofit Management, Labor Relations, and Homeland Security are not offered online, nor is the concentration in Criminal Justice. However, the joint-degree in MPA/MPH is now available through our online program.

Application for admission to MPA online mirrors the process for on-campus admission, requiring two separate application submissions.

Students seeking to enter MPA Online are required to apply before March 1 or October 15, as spaces are limited.

All materials must be complete and in the program office before these deadlines for applications to be considered. In addition, local students are generally not admitted to the online major without extenuating circumstances. These circumstances should be documented upon application.

The University of Illinois at Springfield is a national leader in online education. Look closer into online.

Applying for an online course is the same procedure as applying for an on-campus course.

Apply Now! for the university portion, and click MPA Online Application Materials (pdf) for the program submission forms. Or you can try our new feature of applying automatically, filling the form out online and submitting!Direct submission of MPA application.

*Remember, if you use this method, you will still have to e-mail a copy of your goal statement and resume to Online Coordinator.
