Process
The Application Process
- To Apply to the University of Illinois at Springfield, the following are needed:
- Completion of a UIS graduate application form for U.S. Residents or International Students.
- UIS Admission Application;
- Transcript verifying a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university;
- Submission of transcripts for all graduate work taken beyond the bachelor's degree;
- TOEFL score of 550 for those who speak English as a second language; and
- A fee of $60.00 for domestic applicants, $75.00 fee for international.

- Apply to the MPA Program by providing:
- Completed MPA application form found at MPA admission forms;
- Evidence of fulfillment of program prerequisites;
- Resume; and
- Statement of at least 300 words describing your career goals, particularly what you would contribute to the program, and how the MPA Program would enhance your professional development.
Note: Student's needing prerequisites may be admitted on a "conditional" basis until the prerequisites are completed.
Application Deadline
New students are admitted every semester to the MPA On-campus Program. However, students are encouraged to apply before March 1 for fall semester and before October 31 for spring admission. Students seeking to enter online are required to apply before March 1 or October 31, as spaces are limited.
