NonProfit Project: Certificate at UIS
National, regional and local studies of nonprofits indicate a coming shortage in nonprofit leadership. Fifty to seventy-five percent of baby boomers plan to leave their nonprofit leadership position in the next five years (Casey Foundation). The PA Nonprofit Project takes this leadership need seriously. The nonprofit certificate is intended for professionals in the field of nonprofit management, for those who work closely with nonprofit organizations, or for those who are beginning their careers and wish to prepare for a career working in or with nonprofit organizations. Skills obtained in earning this certificate allow for management of an organization where the bottom line is not financial, but the level of excellence achieved in helping the underprivileged, promoting the arts, or empowering through education.
Important: Students, who seek to earn a certificate while also working on their MPA degree, must enter on initial application to the university that they are seeking the MPA and the MNPO , or if currently enrolled, they must file a change of curriculum form to list the MPA and the certificate they are striving for. See “How to Apply for a Certificate.”
When the courses are complete, please see Registrar’s link to apply to award certificate.
