The University of Illinois at Springfield's chapter of Psi Chi was established in 1992.
Because this is an academic honor society, there are qualifications for membership. To be eligible for membership, a student must:
Qualifying students receive a letter of invitation from the campus chapter.
As one of the most popular majors at UIS, the Psychology Department has a large group of active and involved students. Although there are academic prerequisites for membership in Psi Chi at the national level, all UIS psychology students are encouraged to participate in activities and events sponsored by the UIS chapter of Psi Chi. Students are also encouraged to join the Psychology Club, which is open to all psychology students. You can see what these groups are up to by going to our facebook page.
