POSITION DESCRIPTION: VISITING INSTRUCTOR IN PSYCHOLOGY: The Psychology Department at the University of Illinois at Springfield has an opening beginning August 16, 2010 for a visiting instructor. Requirements include a minimum of ABD status, with a completed Ph.D. preferred, from an accredited university. The specialty area is open. The position will require teaching undergraduate lower and upper division courses such as Principles of Psychology, Research Methods, and possibly courses in the candidate’s specialty area. Normal teaching load is three 4 credit hour courses per semester. College teaching experience is desirable, and dedication to teaching is essential. The position is for one year (9-month appointment), with the possibility of renewal.

QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of ABD status, with a completed Ph.D. preferred, with the area of specialty open, from a regionally accredited university. Prior evidence of excellence in teaching is desirable. UIS is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
