MINOR IN PSYCHOLOGY

To earn a minor in psychology, students must complete a minimum of 20 semester hours, at least 16 of which must be upper-division course work taken at the University of Illinois at Springfield.

Four of these hours must be the psychology course PSY 302 Research Methods in Psychology, or its equivalent.

Students who have earned a B-grade or better in lower-division psychology courses, beyond introductory psychology, at another institution may use those courses as the basis for a reduction of up to four credit hours in the total hours required for a minor.

Students who wish to earn a minor in psychology must complete a course curriculum form in which they specify the curriculum they have designed in consultation with their psychology advisers. This minor curriculum design must be specified and on file in the psychology program office (CPV 46) prior to enrollment beyond the first psychology course taken at UIS. Interested students may wish to review and print a copy of the minor designation form.

Students interested in earning a psychology minor should contact the Psychology Department Secretary to make an appointment with a psychology adviser.
