UIS Alumni Council to sponsor discussion on lobbying

October 9, 2006

SPRINGFIELD – The Alumni Council of the College of Public Affairs and Administration at the University of Illinois at Springfield will host a panel discussion titled "The Third Chamber: How Lobbyists View Their Role" at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, in Brookens Auditorium, located on the lower level of Brookens Library on the UIS campus. A dessert reception will follow in the Public Affairs Center Restaurant. Both the discussion and reception are free and open to the public.

Panelists will include Todd Maisch, vice-president of government affairs for the Illinois Chamber of Commerce; Maureen Mulhall, with Government Strategy Associates and John J. Ryan and Associates; and former state representative Tom Ryder, now with Shea Paige and Rogal, Inc.

Moderator will be E. Norman Sims, executive director of the Illinois Tax Increment Association and an adjunct professor of Political Studies at UIS.
