UIS English program to host Trivia Night

October 11, 2004

SPRINGFIELD - The English program at the University of Illinois at Springfield will host a Trivia Night to benefit The Alchemist Review, UIS’ annual literary journal, beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday, October 16, in conference room G of the Public Affairs Center on the UIS campus. The event is open to the public.

Six- to ten-member teams will compete for a $250 prize. Questions will be read by Kavitha Cardoza, Springfield bureau chief for public radio station WUIS. All proceeds will benefit the Alchemist Review, a 30-year literary tradition at UIS. Published each April and celebrated at the Verbal Arts Festival, the Review presents original creative works such as short fiction and non-fiction, plays, poetry, essays, and memoirs.

To reserve a table or for more information, contact Maureen Skube, English program graduate assistant, at (217) 206-7460. Cost is $10 per person. Information is also available at www.Springfieldtrivia.com.
