UIS English program to host Trivia NightOctober 11, 2004SPRINGFIELD - The English program at the University of Illinois at Springfield will host a Trivia Night to benefit The Alchemist Review, UIS’ annual literary journal, beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday, October 16, in conference room G of the Public Affairs Center on the UIS campus. The event is open to the public. Six- to ten-member teams will compete for a $250 prize. Questions will be read by Kavitha Cardoza, Springfield bureau chief for public radio station WUIS. All proceeds will benefit the Alchemist Review, a 30-year literary tradition at UIS. Published each April and celebrated at the Verbal Arts Festival, the Review presents original creative works such as short fiction and non-fiction, plays, poetry, essays, and memoirs.
