UIS Alumni Association lunchtime lecture series will feature theater director October 6, 2003 In "Demystifying the Art of Acting" Thibodeaux-Thompson will take his audience inside the process of acting and give them a glimpse of what it takes to master this powerful craft. He will also discuss the rebirth of theater on campus and the productions that are planned for this year. Thibodeaux-Thompson joined the UIS faculty in the 2002 fall semester. His professional experience includes stints on stage as an actor as well as behind the scenes as a director and teacher. He earned a B.A. in Theater from the University of Minnesota and an M.F.A. from the University of Nebraska. The next program in the Taste of UIS series is "Toons at Noon" with alumnus Chris Britt, award-winning editorial cartoonist at The State Journal-Register, on Wednesday, November 19. Each program includes a hot buffet lunch that begins at 11:30 a.m. Presentations begin at 12:10 p.m. and, along with the accompanying question-and-answer session, are over by 12:50 p.m. (Those who have the time are welcome to linger for more discussion.) Reservations should be made no later than one week prior to each lecture. Cost for each program is $18 per person, $13 for Alumni Association members and their guests.
