UIS groups to present holiday concert

 

SPRINGFIELD Music groups at the University of Illinois at Springfield will combine to present a concert of holiday music at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3, in the Studio Theatre, located on the lower level of the Public Affairs Center on the UIS campus. The concert is free and open to the public.

Featured groups will include the UIS All Campus Choir, the UIS Chamber Music Ensemble, and the UIS World Percussion Ensemble.

A variety of music will be performed including 16th century madrigals, songs from the Civil War era, Old English music, African rhythms, an Israeli folksong, and a Bach chorale.

To conclude the program, the audience will be invited to join in a holiday sing-along followed by light refreshments.
