46 UIS students inducted into international honor society

SPRINGFIELD -- Forty-six students from the undergraduate and graduate programs in the College of Business and Management at the University of Illinois at Springfield were inducted into Sigma Beta Delta, an international honor society for business, management, and administration students, in a ceremony held Sunday, April 29, on the UIS campus. 

UIS Chancellor Richard D. Ringeisen was also inducted as an honorary member.  Prior honorees attending the ceremony were Clifford Greenwalt, president and CEO (retired) of Central Illinois Public Service Co., and Sergio Pecori, president of Hanson Engineers, Inc. UIS Provost/Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Wayne Penn delivered the keynote address.

Sigma Beta Delta was founded as a national organization in 1994 with the purpose of encouraging and recognizing scholarship and achievement among students of business, management, and administration, as well as encouraging and promoting personal and professional improvement and lives distinguished by honorable service to humankind.  For business students who attend a college or university with a Sigma Beta Delta chapter, membership is the highest national recognition they can receive.
