UIS presentation to discuss Peace Corps opportunities in MadagascarMarch 18, 2005SPRINGFIELD - Area residents who have ever wondered what the Peace Corps is all about, what it does, and what it would be like to live abroad are encouraged to attend “Peace Corps in Madagascar: Life on the Big Red Island.” The program will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, in conference room F of the Public Affairs Center at the University of Illinois at Springfield and is free and open to the public. The discussion will be led by three former Peace Corps volunteers who worked in Madagascar, a large island in the Indian Ocean off the southeast coast of Africa, between 1998 and 2001. Audience members are welcome to stay for some or all of the presentation, which will include stories about the Peace Corps and about the island. The program is presented by UIS’ Environmental Studies department. For more information, contact Sherri Boner at 206-6678.
